About us - School Charter
Marjoyoun National College is a non-sectarian, non-profit making, co-educational school governed by a board of trustees. The school has been providing educational and cultural services to the Marjoyoun-Hasbayya area since 1946.
Its Mission: The school aspires to develop students’ personalities by identifying individual talent and potential, encouraging creativity and ingenuity while drilling in the ethos of critical and analytical thinking. In addition, the school has taken it upon itself since its inception to promote the national spirit among its students. It considers education to be the primary factor in producing a citizen who is law abiding, tolerant, and open to other cultures and opinions.
Its Classes: The Lebanese Official Curriculum is taught from nursery to the third secondary (Gr. 12) levels.
Its Staff: The school comprises a staff of experienced teachers, administrators and workers who conduct their jobs with a high degree of honesty and professionalism, and with a familial affiliation to their administrative staff, colleagues and students.
Working Hours: From 8 a.m. till 2:20 p.m.
School Uniform: The school adopts a special uniform. Two sets are available at the beginning of each school year.
Conduct and Discipline: The school emphasizes the importance of students’ adherence to its rules, inside and outside of the classroom. Penalties for misconduct could include temporary dismissal from the school and in extreme cases to permanent expulsion. The school requires its students to adhere to the following rules:
- Continuous attendance is required. Absence is accepted only under circumstances of absolute necessity such as sickness.
- Mutual respect towards their teachers and colleagues.
- Doing their utmost to improve their school performance through hard work in school and at home.
- Wearing their school uniform daily. Wearing extravagant jewellery and ornaments is not allowed.
- Refraining from carrying cell phones, cameras and all items that are unrelated to their scholastic work. Certain exceptions will be made on special occasions and with permission from the school administration.
Health Care: The school gives the utmost importance to all health issues. This is achieved through the following:
- The school doctor who is present on a daily basis to diagnose any possible health problems.
- Medical insurance against accidents that could happen on the school premises during working hours.
- Encouraging students to eat healthy food and stay away from harmful food stuffs as well as reinforcing their health awareness.
School-Parents Relationship: The relationship between the school and the parents is built on mutual respect and cooperation in the best interest of the students through regular meetings. The school, in accordance with its policy of respecting privacy, will discuss student issues only with their parents and likewise kindly requires all parents to abstain from discussing school issues in public or through social media.
School Fees: Tuition fees are determined based on the school budget, taking into consideration current circumstances and the financial rights of the teachers and school employees and any increments that may affect their salaries. The school expects all parents to pay their dues on time so that it can secure the financial rights of its employees and maintain the highest level of educational services to its students.
